Scent description:
- At first sniff, the oil has a woody, earthy, and slightly resinous smell that instantly mentally transports me into the middle of a lush, green forest.
- There's also a slight herbaceous aroma, reminiscent of the tea tree, yet not overpowering. It then finishes with a sweet, green note.
The oil's smell is simultaneously grounding and uplifting, lending a calming and rejuvenative aroma.
Gandhi Root is an evergreen perennial belonging to the family Aracea, the most diverse plant family in the new world tropics. The plant is identifiable by its heart shaped leaves and yellow-orange berries.
Gandhi Root Essential Oil’s two primary constituents are: Linalool - also found predominantly in Lavender; and terpinen-4-ol - also found predominantly in Tea Tree.
The plant's rhizomes have been used in traditional herbal-med for over 3000 years, and is said to be beneficial for managing various issues.
Many tribes in the Sub-Himalayan regions of India use the leaves and rhizomes of Gandhi Root to make pastes, used topically to help sooth skin and joints.
The oil has also been made use of in Traditional Chinese Med to sooth various issues, and even named the plant "Qian Nian Jian", meaning "Thousand years of health."
